Sunday Night Thoughts

The last weekend before school in G-ville County is over and school begins on Tuesday.  It’s been a fantastic summer.  God has really stirred the hearts of the students in our ministry and we’re kicking into the school year in high gear.  I’ve gained a new concept about the summer months.  It’s almost as if everything we have done has prepared our students to live for Jesus while they’re in school.  I’ve never been more confident that God is going to do great things during the school year this year.

Tonight there were 46 people who showed up at Frankies to bid farewell to the summer.

  • It was pretty cool to sit down with Greg, Mike and Jim tonight.
  • I watched Preston play “Deal or No Deal” which, in my opinion, is the greatest video game at Frankies.
  • Victoria, Preston, Lexi, “the Conklin” girls, and Michael broke into the student ministry tonight!  Welcome all sixth graders…..if there was someone I missed that was there tonight, forgive me for not mentioning your names.  We’ve got a really cool group of sixth graders coming in.  There going to bring a huge boost to our ministry.  Gary and Karen, you guys did a great job preparing them for the student ministry.
  • Few stand with Michael Phelps.  The dude simply hates to lose.
  • Just think if we had as much passion spreading the gospel as Phelps has in swimming.

Schedule for the week:

  • IGNITE – Wednesday at 6:30 PM
  • Student Leadership meeting 6 PM on Wednesday.  (remember Westside Willie and Westside Wilma (or whatevere we named her!)
  • Next Sunday at 5 PM, Adult Leadership meeting.  All new Sunday School teachers and D-Group leaders need to be there!  Got some pretty cool stuff to share with ya!

Have a great week!
